As the Director of Operational Excellence at Map Room, I bring over 15 years of experience in business architecture, Lean Six Sigma process improvement, and consultancy. My expertise lies in helping leaders transform their businesses and turn strategy into reality.
My mission at Map Room is to drive the UK’s operational excellence revolution, educating and enabling leaders to realise their company’s full potential.
I am a confident public speaker and facilitator, and my background in media and design empowers me to deliver engaging communications, crafting compelling stories that paint a clear vision of the future.
With this diverse but complementary skill set, I understand how to design and deliver change whilst making it real for business stakeholders from all levels.
My passion for giving back has led me to spend decades raising money for people living with Cystic Fibrosis; ask me about my recent 80-mile paddle-boarding mission from the Bahamas to Florida through shark-infested waters at night!

Lisa joined Map Room in November 2023 to provide comprehensive Executive Support to our Leadership Team and the overall co-ordination of our Stoke Office. She excels in the role of ‘right-hand person’ and is the friendly voice that will most likely greet you when you call the Map Room Office!
Lisa brings with her an extensive range of experience in Operational and Financial areas, working in previous posts for Britannia Building Society, Co-Operative Bank and more recently in an Estate Agency.
As a Finance professional utilising over 16 years of practitioner experience, Guy now leads operating model change, either as a subject matter expert within larger programmes, or as a trusted advisor to CFOs and their leadership teams.
With a straight-talking, simplifying approach, Guy brings the experience, frameworks, and tools with which to drive improvements in control, efficiency, functional performance, leadership accountability, colleague capability, and engagement. This experience is drawn from roles at Lloyds Banking Group, Nationwide, Tesco, Rathbones, Railpen, PZ Cussons, and ConvaTec.
Introducing Aaron, our esteemed Head of IT and Digital at Map Room. Tasked with safeguarding and optimising our digital footprint, Aaron oversees cyber security measures, internal infrastructure, and the development of our web site and associated applications. As an enabler to the wider team, he works closely with all our practices, delivering top-tier IT support.
Armed with a bachelor’s degree in computer applications for business, Aaron boasts a rich background spanning web security, hardware, programming languages, software, and internal systems. His expertise extends to web development, having undertaken intricate commercial website projects and provided consulting services on web best practices in previous roles.
Beyond the realm of technology, Aaron finds solace in weight training, boxing, and gaming, not smiling in profile photos, while nurturing a fascination for documentaries and indulging in the occasional science fiction film for relaxation.
Keeping the Exec team in order and in tune is no small task in a busy organisation and Elizabeth manages this function with diligence and discipline. She is responsible for ensuring core administrative activities are performed to the best possible standard and liaising between functions including the Consulting teams, IT, Legal and Finance.
She has previous built and run successful digital businesses and offers an entrepreneurial lens when enhancing and improving our operational activities.
A vastly experienced leader of people and programmes, Nic supports Map Room’s teams across Customer engagements to deliver outstanding outcomes. Having previously led major regulatory enforcement programmes and driven organic transformation, Nic has experience from previous posts with Barclays, Co-op Bank, Sainsbury’s, Northern Rock and Barclaycard.
Support our teams deployed within Customers sites and programmes, Matt plays a lead role for Map Room in providing on the ground management and oversight in line with our core values, governance and delivery models.
He brings a wealth of operational experience to the Map Room team from previous roles with Lloyds Banking Group, Nationwide, Aviva and Leeds Building Society.
Responsible for all things finance, Gilbert manages our front and back office financial activities, from pricing to invoicing, controls to cash flow, Gilbert leads of finance team to ensure we offer seamless engagement activities for our Customers and Consultants. Joining us from previous roles in logistics finance and as Finance Manager from the University of Hong Kong, he has a wealth of experience and is an ACCA qualified accountant.
Jared leads our core operations and both internal and customer resourcing teams, identifying and engaging the best talent in the market. Jared has extensive experience resourcing both specialist niche activities and large augmentation programmes for our Customers. Jared brings discipline, an eye for detail and an entrepreneurial flair to Map Room and is also responsible for the continuous improvement of our resourcing platforms and Consultant experience.
Prior to joining Map Room he held senior posts in recruitment and resourcing with a range of health-care providers in addition to long term posts with the Crown Prosecution Service.
Engaging our customers and delivering outstanding customer outcomes is Matt’s core focus as the Customer Relationships Director for Map Room. Operating across our specialisms, Matt seeks to build long term relationships with our customers, focused on providing solutions which meet the true requirements.
Creative, approachable and relentlessly focused on customer satisfaction, he has a deep knowledge of the financial services and technology markets and brings a wealth of experience from previous roles with Huntswood, Elliott James, Thales, Mitel and BigHand.
As the Commercial Sustainability Director for the Map Room team, Elena directly guides and supports our Customers in maximising their organisations long term sustainability and regenerative credentials through the lens of commerciality and long-term value. A passionate advocate for regenerative business and levelling up, Elena brings vast experience to Map Room from a range of markets and specialisms from roles with Maersk, BP, Shell and Exxon leading their digital and decarbonisation platforms, to McLaren, Photobox and KPMG.
Elena offers a unique blend of expert sustainability insight with the ability to build products and businesses for long term commercial advantage.
Leading our Conduct & Assurance Practice, Adam provides expert advisory and support services to Customers across Financial and Consumer Services in key risk activities. His background in high-complexity, high-risk programmes, coupled with his broad experience transforming Risk and Control functions provides our Customers and the Map Room team with critical value.
Prior to joining Map Room as a Director he led our activities in regulatory programmes as a Senior Practitioner and also previously held roles with HSBC, Co-op Bank and Britannia Building Society.
Andy joined the business in 2017, initially operating as an Associate Director before progressing to lead our Consulting teams and ultimately to Managing Partner. He is responsible for the overarching business strategy and execution; under his stewardship we have enjoyed exponential growth in recent years and continue to develop our operating markets. Prior to joining Map Room, Andy held senior posts with Lloyds Banking Group, Barclays, Yorkshire Building Society, Coop Bank and Britannia Building Society.
As a Consultant he has also played leading roles in five major UK regulatory enforcement programmes, specialising in Financial Difficulty, Vulnerable Customers and Customer Outcomes.
As a founding Partner in the business, Zoe built and embedded Map Room’s operating activities, legal and finance frameworks in support of the Group’s core transformational purpose. In her role as Group COO, she is responsible for Operations and all back-office functions for Map Room, ensuring unbroken delivery for our Customers and Consultants.
Zoe brings a wealth of experience to the Map Room team and prior to establishing the Group held senior posts with the UK Home Office.
Founding the Map Room business and the Bateman Collins Group over a decade ago, Barney’s primary focus was to transform the core markets in which we operate, placing culture, ethics, and exceptional customer outcomes as the fundamental pillars of how the businesses operate. Ten years later, Barney leads the Group as CEO, providing strategic oversight to all core businesses and ensuring those core pillars remain in sharp focus.
He is also the Managing Partner for Bateman Collins International which provides Leadership Search & Advisory services to Boards and Executive Teams across Financial and Consumer Services markets globally.
