MODERN SLAVERY &
HUMAN TRAFFICKING POLICY

Modern slavery still affects millions worldwide. This policy explains how Map Room is actively committed to preventing it in our own operations and supply chain.

MODERN SLAVERY & HUMAN TRAFFICKING POLIGY

Last modified 08.08.25

Modern slavery takes many forms—from forced labour and human trafficking to child labour and exploitation. It has no place in our business or supply chain. At Map Room, we’re committed to preventing it, wherever and however it might occur.

This policy outlines our approach to identifying, preventing, and addressing modern slavery in accordance with the UK Modern Slavery Act 2015.

Our commitment

We fully support the UK’s Modern Slavery Act 2015. We are committed to:

  • Ensuring no modern slavery or human trafficking occurs in our operations or supply chains
  • Acting ethically in all our dealings—including procurement and subcontracting
  • Expecting the same high standards from all suppliers and partners
  • Implementing and enforcing effective systems and controls to prevent modern slavery
  • Reviewing and updating this policy periodically

Where slavery might emerge

Modern slavery isn’t limited to forced labour in faraway places—it can appear in ones closest to home. We believe the areas most at risk include:

  • Workers employed by our subcontractors or suppliers
  • Services involving outsourced labour—especially across lower tiers of the supply chain
  • Countries or sectors with minimal regulation or lax oversight

If you suspect something, we expect our suppliers to act immediately.

Our supply chains

Our supply chains include:

  • Professional services providers

  • Technology platforms and IT services

  • Office suppliers and business operations support

  • Subcontracted delivery partners

We recognise that risk can exist in any tier of the supply chain and commit to staying alert, even where providers operate in low-risk sectors or geographies.

Steps we take (our due diligence)

Here’s what we’re doing to minimise risk:

  1. We carry out checks to ensure all our employees have the right to work in the UK
  2. We make sure suppliers and contractors are aware of this policy and our expectations
  3. We include the right to terminate supplier contracts if modern slavery is suspected
  4. We review this policy every year to make sure it stays relevant and effective

Responsibility for this policy

Responsibility for ensuring compliance with this policy sits with our leadership team.

All employees, suppliers, contractors, and partners are expected to act in line with this policy. Concerns or suspicions relating to modern slavery can be raised confidentially via the contact details listed above.

Monitoring

We monitor risks in this area each year using the following key indicators:

  • The percentage of suppliers who sign up to an appropriate code or provide their own modern slavery statement

  • The percentage of customers who commit to similar standards

  • The amount of time we dedicate to audits, re-audits, spot checks and related due diligence

  • The level of modern slavery awareness and training among our team

These metrics help us understand where we stand—and where we need to do more.
